Good evening Walsh families,
We are thrilled to welcome back students to Walsh Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. We would like to share with you some important first-day reminders. Doors will open at 7:50 am to welcome our students and we ask that students head to their 1st-period class beginning at 8:10. There will be plenty of staff in the hallway helping students locate their classrooms (campus maps are posted throughout the school). Students will not be counted tardy for the first two weeks of school; however, it is imperative students are in class as soon as possible for attendance purposes.
Here is the morning arrival route: arrival
IMPORTANT DROP-OFF REMINDERS:
Do not attempt to drop off students in designated parking areas. Parking in these areas will not be allowed, and attempting to park will only delay the arrival time.
Student Schedules
Student schedules are now available to view using the Home Access Center (HAC). Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 12, students will report to their first-period classes and receive a copy of their most current schedule. If a student cannot access HAC to see their schedule, they can report to the front of the lecture hall to obtain a copy of their schedule.

What the law says:
HB 1481- Prohibits use of communication devices during school day (not just during class) with the exception of district issued devices.
Students with medical needs or emergencies may be exempt.
It allows for districts to establish means of storage for the devices.
It gives schools the right to confiscate phones.
At Walsh, bell-to-bell is from 8:10 when the morning bell rings to direct students to report to their first period class until 3:35 when the dismissal bell rings.
At the start of the day, a reminder will be given at 8:15 am, reminding students that devices must be stored in their backpacks until the dismissal bell rings. It applies to the following devices:
Personal cell phones
Tablets
Gaming devices
Smart watches
Bluetooth headphones or earbuds
Fitness trackers that can send or receive messages
Personal (non-district-issued) computers

At 3:35, students may use their personal communication devices.
Additional reminders:
Please be patient as both students and parents adjust to middle school, as there will be more school traffic due to all of Round Rock ISD returning to campuses tomorrow, and plan for additional travel time
Students will NOT need their Chromebooks on the 1st week of school
Wake up a few minutes early to make sure they are ready to go for the first day
We anticipate buses being extremely behind for the first few weeks as routes are leveled and adjusted
We look forward to having the best year yet.
Sincerely,
