Important Information

Walsh will have opportunities for students to exchange their Chromebook before the beginning of the school year. If you are not able to make it before school starts, all students will exchange Chromebooks the second week of school.

Additional Reminders:

• New students can join at the events corresponding to their grade level to pick up a Chromebook or they can wait for the second week of school.

• If you have keyboard damage or lost your charger please pay online in advance to speed up the process. Be prepared to provide your receipt. 

• Do not put stickers on your new device.

• Peel off any stickers your old Chromebook might have.

• If your student received a new Chromebook in May with a case, no need to exchange.

• Teachers will not be requiring students to use chromebooks until after 8/27/25. 

Chromebook Exchange Opportunities:
We will be exchanging devices in the cafeteria on the following dates.
An adult needs to be present with the student

• August 8th, 9am - 11am, 8th grade only

  • A-L 9am-10am

  • M-Z 10am-11am

• August 11th, 9am - 1pm, 6th-8th grade

  • A-L 9am-11am

  • M-Z 11-1pm

Fee Structure:
Students will be responsible for paying for intentional damage (keyboards, writing/etching on cases, screen damage) for their current device before receiving a new device.

Intentional Damage: Intentional damage includes any keyboard damage (e.g., missing keys or damage to the keyboard backing), and writing on or etching the Chromebook.

Keyboard damage - $20
Screen Damage - $50
Etching or writing on the case: Top - $25     Bottom - $15
Lost charger- $15

Payments are encouraged to be made online and in advance to facilitate a smoother distribution process. Cash payments can be made on the day of Chromebook distribution. Please bring your receipt with you on the distribution day if you have paid in advance, to enable payment verification.
